On another look, i am not sure a stronger treatment would help here. Right now, the pauses between shots are allowed to breathe, and that already carries enough weight.
The more I sit with it, there is a quiet confidence in the way the pace changes without pulling attention away from the subject. Nothing feels pushed too hard.
